J. C. Story

The purpose of our lives is to be happy.

Dalai Lama

Made in Taiwan

Born in Taipei, I’m conventional but eccentric, sentimental yet realistic, shy but earnest. I spent most of my childhood contemplating the meaning of life besides doing my favorite thing – role playing as the cartoon figure, Mr Bean. Until I was in college, a 7-day sitting session at DDM changed my perspective towards life. “The only interesting answers are those which destroy the questions.” Now I’ve leaned to shut up and embraced whatever life wish to bring me. (Though I have to admit, it’s quite difficult for me most of the time)

I’m not sure if I’m a creative person, but I do often come up with random ideas like growing an avocado to sell, drafting a business blueprint for organic farm market, and doing arbitrage of second-hand books. I’ve always been passionate about learning new things, going on an adventure, and making money (did I mention my virtue of honesty?)

Taiwan is my country, Jönköping is my hometown

Hej hej, wanna fika? Whenever I miss Sweden, I go to IKEA.

2016 was the fist time I went to Europe. As an exchange student of Jönköping University Business School, I got to learn so many new things and made some really good friends from different countries. My Syrian friend bought my first falafel (now my favorite food), my New Zealander friend taught me how to bootstrap and talk to vendors like a real deal, my German friend taught me how to enjoy Ballantine’s with coke while watching football, my Greek friend cooked me the first bowl of nutritious lentil soup, my American friend taught me how to play beer pong, and my dear Lithuania friend taught me the history of her beautiful hometown, Klaipėda and its worst enemy Russia.

Feeling energetic and free, I’ve become more independent and open-minded. Besides the exciting school projects and field trips, I spent the final month on a solo trip from Hamburg, Prague, Salzburg to Venice, Rome, and Munich. Feeling like a nomad everyday, it turned out to be one of the best things in my life. God, I miss Sweden!

Music Travel Life

For all the beautiful things in life, music alone is a MUST. Just like G-Easy’s song “I don’t need anything to make me satisfied ‘Cause the music fills me good And it gets me every time”.

Besides music, I travel from time to time. It’s not something that I typically enjoy, but something I feel like I must do. “If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody,” you just can’t argue with the Chef you know.

And there are times that I like to sit down, reflect, and put thoughts into words like now. “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” I wish when the day comes, I would know by heart that I’ve experienced every aspect of life. Cheers!
